From Our Director Regarding Visitors to Piatt County Nursing Home and Maple Point Supportive Living
March 12, 2020
The Piatt County Nursing Home, Maple Point Supportive Living, Dewitt-Piatt Health Department, and Piatt County Emergency Management Agency have been maintaining collaborative, regular, daily communication regarding coronavirus. Suzanna Brock, Compliance and Safety Officer, and Tiffany Kleven RN, Infection Prevention Nurse, as well as the county partners have been participating in frequent conference calls and webinars to learn of the latest developments and strategies regarding COVID-19. As always, know that the health and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors are our highest priority.
With all information that is currently available to us, the facility has made the decision to close the facility to ALL non-essential visitors, which unfortunately will include family members. This was not a decision that we made lightly, and we understand that this will be a hardship on both the residents and their loved ones. However, given the potential threat of the spread of the COVID-19 virus the Piatt County Nursing Home is taking this unprecedented step. The restriction on visitors will be in effect starting March 12th, 2020 and will be in place until further notice.
Families and POA will be contacted by phone and e-mails regarding opportunities to communicate with loved ones by phone and other electronic means. In the meantime, nursing staff will continue to contact families as normal. Daily updates about the facility and how and what the residents are doing during this restriction of visitors, will be given by mass e-mails and posts on our Facebook page.
The administration and staff of the Piatt County Nursing Home would like to thank you for your cooperation, patience, and understanding during this difficult time.
Most Sincerely,
Scott Porter, Executive Director
